WHY DO I NEED TO WASH MY HANDS?


Have you heard your mom saying, “darling did you wash your hands”? Not one time or two but many times in a day isn’t it? She says it because washing hands will stop spreading germs. From the morning till night you touch many things, play with soil, use your hands while sneezing, touch plants, animals, etc. While doing a lot many things you come in contact with germs. It is easy for germs to spread from your hands to your mouth. It will make you sick. So, washing hands is a must to avoid germs.
Remember ‘Health is Wealth’. Taking care of your health is more important.

So, when do you need to wash your hands?

    1. Whenever your hands are dirty
    2. Before eating or touching food
    3. After using the washroom/bathroom
    4. After sneezing or coughing
    5. Playing or touching pets or other animals
    6. Returning home from outside/ playground
    7. Before and after visiting a sick relative/friend

By now you understood why and when your hands are to be washed. Now the question is how to wash your hands properly?

Remember the following hints, next time whenever you are asked to wash your hands' dear kids: -

    1. Use warm or cold (not hot) water for washing your hands.
    2. Wash with soap each time.
    3. Rub the soap till it gives good lather on both sides of the hands. Wash properly around your nails.
    4. Rinse your hands properly and dry well with a clean towel.

Dear kids, to remain healthy it is necessary to take care of yourself. Germs spread quickly from hands to mouth which will make you sick. So, wash your hands as many times as possible.
